Geoengineering refers to a set of emerging technologies that could manipulate the environment and partially offset some of the impacts of climate change. Solar geoengineering in particular could not be a replacement for reducing emissions (mitigation) or coping with a changing climate (adaptation); yet, it could supplement these efforts.

AT GeoEngineers we use earth science and engineering expertise to help our clients find a balance between human needs and the earth’s physical systems.

Geoengineering is the artificial modification of Earths climate systems through two primary ideologies, Solar Radiation Management (SRM) and Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) Geoengineering refers to a set of emerging technologies that could manipulate the environment and partially offset some of the impacts of climate change. Solar geoengineering in particular could not be a replacement for reducing emissions (mitigation) or coping with a changing climate (adaptation); yet, it could supplement these efforts. Geoengineering is a form of climate engineering or human climate intervention that seeks to alter long-term trends in Earth's climate. Many of today's geoengineering proposals focus on two key areas: reversing global warming and atmospheric carbon dioxide removal. Traditionally, geoengineering has encompassed two very different things: sucking carbon dioxide out of the sky so the atmosphere will trap less heat, and reflecting more sunlight away from the Geoengineering is a false solution to the climate crisis that aims to address the symptoms of climate change but ignores and enables the root causes to continue. Geoengineering (literally "Earth-engineering") is the currently fashionable term for making large-scale interventions in how the planet works to slow down or reverse the effects of climate change. In theory, the word "geoengineering" could be used to describe almost any large-scale scheme for tackling climate change.

A number of geoengineering ideas have been suggested, though none have been put to a real test. They fall into two main categories. First is carbon dioxide removal (CDR), which tackles the root cause of climate change by taking greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere. Some concepts, such as reforestation, have been around for a long time, have

2. Geoengineering - Geoengineering - Carbon-removal proposals: The carbon-removal approach would extract CO2 from other gases in the atmosphere by changing it into other forms of carbon (such as carbonate) through photosynthesis or artificial “scrubbing.” Geoengineering is a false solution to the climate crisis that aims to address the symptoms of climate change but ignores and enables the root causes to continue. While there are a variety of geoengineering techniques and technologies (see: Technologies ), each with their own ecological and social implications, a few important characteristics apply to all techniques : Geoengineering is not a quick fix for climate change, experts warn Trump. Leading researchers and campaigners express concern that geoengineering research could be used as an excuse not to reduce Geoengineering refers, essentially, to attempts to stop global temperature increases by blocking the sun or sucking carbon out of the air on a massive, global scale—instead of reducing carbon emissions to zero.
